We are proud to introduce San Jose, a community-driven coffee from the Montegrande Agricultural Producers Association in the high-altitude region of Jaén, Cajamarca. This is the incredible work of the collective effort of smallholder growers who have united to strengthen their craft and their livelihoods.
Nestled between 1,500 and 1,900 meters above sea level, these individually owned plots benefit from cool mountain air and traditional farming practices. The association provides the framework for shared resources, quality control, and Fairtrade & Organic certification, ensuring that every bean is grown with respect for both the land and the people who cultivate it.
This lot undergoes a careful washed process. After selective hand-picking, cherries are depulped and fermented to highlight the bean's natural clarity, then washed and dried with precision. The result is a structured and balanced cup.
In the cup, expect a smooth, approachable profile: sweet milk chocolate and roasted hazelnut form a comforting base, while bright notes of orange zest and a gentle hint of vanilla add complexity.

Despite the described flavour profile, tastes like molasses which I don't really like.
